Bamberg is one of the postcard Bavarian towns, always full of tourists, but you can't afford to miss it if you want to see the old, medieval Germany.

The major sight is the cathedral. It is a mix of Romanesque and Gothic and houses a number of graceful sculptures.

Bamberg also has one of the most photgraphed town halls —the Altes Rathaus sits in the middle of a bridge straddling the Regnitz River.
