But even if the rest of Germany knows these things, they are most common in Bavaria. Restaurant am Chinesischen Turm
The restaurant “Chinese tower” is a traditional destination of an excursion in the English Garden. In 1992 the house has been completely renovated. Nowadays they offer a big choice of Bavarian food and original Löwenbräu beer. 120 seats inside, a 75 seat extra room, and a patio with 500 seats offer enough space, even for groups up to 200 persons (reservations: +49 (0)89 - 38 38 73 – 27)

Augustiner Bräustüberl
Here you can admire the famous Bavarian service: to carry 10 beer jugs or 6 plates is not problem at all. The Bavarian "Schmankerl" (plain specialties) are natural and incomparably unexpensive. Open every day from 10am to midnight.

Hofbräuhaus
For every fan of bavarian and beer culture the 1589 founded "Hofbräuhaus" is a Must. Food, beer and atmosphere are absolutely unique. Try the bavarian home-made specialities and the famous HB-beer. To understand this bavarian institution, have a short look at the history:

1589: The Hofbräuhaus was founded by Duke "Wilhelm V." of Bavaria. Until then the courtyard received his beer from Einbeck, a town near Hanover, which was one of the best at that time.
1879: The world-known trademark - HB with crown - was registered in Munich.
1966: The whole building was renovated. The Hofbräuhaus became one of the main attractions of Munich and the most famous beer serving house in the world.
1980: The landlord Michael Sperger and his wife Gerda took over the management of the Hofbräuhaus. Since then they make daily every effort to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of their guests.

Right in the heart of Munich, at Platzl 4, you have the choice either to eat in a rustic cellar or in a somewhat Baroque restaurant, both are run by the Augustiner Brewery.
