Fundus A restaurant with direct access to the foyer of the Ballhoff theater. This does account for the unusual dressing of the place. It's probably the best place to go if you want a tast of real German food.

Steuerndieb In 1329 a stone-sided tower was erected about a mile east of central Hannover to guard the lumber produced in Eilenriede Forest. Around 1850 a idyllically restaurant was built on the site of that tower, and it has been known ever since for unflinching and flavorful food. Some of the specialties are prepared in an old stone oven and the restaurant offers a locally inspired menu that, unlike those of many other restaurants, features game year-around. Two popular dishes are venison with red cabbage, dumplings, and black-cherry sauce and hare with black-pepper sauce and „stoved“ green cabbage. In 1992, the restaurant was enlarged with a modern wing containing seven white-walled guest rooms, each with a private bath, TV.

Waterloo-Biergarten 16 years ago the Waterloo beergarden opened, today it is a summer institution. They offer several types of beer from the tab (Pils, Alt, Weissbier) and the popular "Altbierbowle" (refreshing but it takes some getting used to).
